Bond…. James Bond themed events Norwich

Last weekend saw us putting on a James Bond themed event in the marquee at Drayton Old Lodge. It was a 21st Birthday party for the lovely Josephine, and what a fab evening it was! The guests were great, the food was amazing, and the venue was perfect for such an event… plenty big enough for us to put up our James Bond extras with our 8 foot Golden Guns each side of the red carpet entrance.

What a weekend we had!

Wow what a fantastic weekend we had at the EDP Weddings show. Massive thanks to all who came to meet us, and to those of you who booked us for your special event. You won’t be disappointed!

Our bookings from the weekend were in double figures, and, when you consider we don’t usually get bookings at the actual shows (they come by email/phone later), we were more than happy. Most people booked us saying that they believed we were very professional, and that it was like they were dealing with a ‘proper’ company (and of course, they were!)

When you’re in business for yourself it’s great to hear comments like that. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, having spent a great many years in the ‘real’ casino business. When you book us you are guaranteed an authentic casino experience with highly experienced croupiers, and great looking tables (and they’re all the same colour, not a mish-mash of greens, reds, and blues etc!), and you can always rest assured that we’ll over deliver on our promises.

After the show we put on a casino evening for the staff of the Marriott Sprowston Manor Hotel in Norwich and it was awesome, but we were extremely tired by the end of play and needed 2 days to recover! (these hospitality staff are party animals!)

That’s Funny!

There were 2 fun casino companies at the show, us and one other. I actually did a couple of 3 hour gigs for the other company a year or so back, and I enjoyed it…. and it was because of that I decided I should start my own fun casino business, because with my 20+ years of real casino experience (starting in 1982 as a croupier in Yarmouth, and later working in The Bahamas, Moscow, and finishing as a casino manager in the Ukraine) I could do it better… So it was amusing to hear some of the potential brides and grooms at the show who had spoken to the other company telling me that ‘The bloke over there says he used to be your boss’ lol…. well I guess I did work for him for a few hours!

Just so you know, the 4 owners of Fun Casino Events (Mark, Peter, Michelle, & Lynne) have 80 years of casino experience between them. So if you want an authentic casino experience at your event there’s really no other choice!

Shaken and Stirred…

Well we just had a busy but satisfying weekend, with 3 casinos in 2 nights.

The first, for Aspall the cyder people, was at All Manor of Events near Ipswich.

We provided 3 tables for their staff at a ‘Late Xmas Party’. In actual fact it was very late, having been cancelled 3 weeks earlier due to the snow that hit the UK. We had a blast, the tournament was loads of fun and got really competitive… and this is what they had to say afterwards…

The staff were brilliant, the props were great and the price was really competitive, but most of all everyone loved it so thank you, we will definitely recommend and I cannot wait for another excuse to use you guys again! 

The second was for Shell ONEgas at Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton. Again 3 tables, and again a great time was had by all. We got stuck in the mud as we left so must give a big shout out to the very burly security guys who helped get us out 🙂

And last but not least was a fundraising event for the Norwich Blackfriars Rotary Club. We put on a James Bond themed evening at Bawburgh Village Hall and helped to raise £1335 for their charities. We provided 3 tables and a bunch of Bond related props. It was a really fun night!

Equipment: We are constantly reinvesting in new equipment, so you won’t see old and tired tables, or have 3 tables with 3 different colour baizes at your special event. Our tables are in great condition, and they match! All with beautiful blue baize, just like in a top London club!

Events: We go ‘All In’ to make your event a success. From the time you start speaking to us we’ll do all we can to help you make the right choices regarding table choice, venue, other entertainment etc. Nothing is too much trouble… plus we have a great selection of props if you’d like a themed event such as James Bond night… or Las Vegas… or Monaco! We can even provide a formula one car!

Price: Although we know we provide the best service around, our prices are still very competitive. How do we do this? Simply because with 4 of us running the business we rarely need to employ anyone from the outside, thus keeping our costs to a minimum. Ask us for a quote and you may be surprised!

Christmas is Coming… Have some Fun!!

Christmas is coming… and that means we are just about to enter the peak season for Fun Casino’s! We have over 20 bookings during December so it’ll be a busy month! Some of the events are weddings, and some are private parties, but the majority are Christmas parties for corporate staff and Hotel guests, and fun will be had by all!

However, we can still do more!!!

As we have several tables and lots of experienced casino dealers on hand, we still have some availability during December… so if you’re planning an event and you’d like to do something a bit different that your guests will be talking about for ages, give us a call. Charity Fundraising Ideas

So you want to raise money for a good cause and are looking to do something just a little bit different? Well a fun casino may be just what you are looking for!

Fun Casinos are exciting for your guests, giving them an authentic taste of a casino atmosphere and the opportunity to have fun and win some great prizes… all whilst donating to a cause close to their hearts.

Here are some details about how we would run your evening…

At the start of the gaming period we will explain the games and give all your guests some ‘fun money’, (maybe $20 each) so they can have a free bet and get the gambling bug. After that they must buy in for more fun money for cash from a ‘cash desk’ put on by you. This can just be someone sitting at a small table selling the $100 bills we’ll give you for £5 or £10 each, depending on what you consider appropriate for your guests. The fun money can then be exchanged for chips on the tables. We’ll keep track of who has the most money and half an hour before the end of the gaming we’ll put the chip leaders onto a final table for a ‘play-off’ and the winners will win the prizes you have supplied, plus a Fun Casino Events tournament winner trophy supplied by us.

For you to maximize your fundraising on the night it’s a good idea to get local businesses to sponsor the casino, or a table, in exchange for some promotion on the night. We recently did a fundraiser at Taverham Hall School where the whole casino was sponsored by a company named Poultex, so all money we raised went to the charity. To make it attractive to businesses, we can put their promotional material on the tables, on any advertising you do to promote the event, we can mention and thank them frequently on the night, plus we can add their logos to the fun money if they wish.

We can also do a ‘roulette raffle’ every 30 or 60 minutes, giving everyone a chance to win cash each time. We’ll sell 37 tickets (one for each of the numbers on the wheel) and when they are all sold we’ll announce ‘next spin is the roulette raffle’. We then spin the ball and the person with that number will win 50% of the take with the rest going to the charity. This is the only way we can actually give cash prizes at a fun casino so is popular with guests.

37 tickets at £2 each = £74 – winner and charity get £37 each

37 tickets at £3 each = £111 – winner and charity get £55.50 each

37 tickets at £5 each = £185 – winner and charity get £92.50 each

There are other ways to raise funds too, plus themed events such as Las Vegas Nights, or James Bond Nights, to add a bit of extra sparkle. A couple of months back we ran a casino at a fundraiser for Taverham Hall School. A meal was served in the marquee while champagne flowed, and we set up 3 casino tables in their fantastic location, and then entertained their guests until the witching hour!

The casino was sponsored by Poultex, and with the school selling personalised ‘fun money’ (supplied by us) for £5 per $100, lots of much needed cash was raised for the school and lots of fun was had by all the participants.

Exciting Wedding Entertainment in Norfolk and Suffolk!

Last week we had the privilege of providing some entertainment for John and Lisa’s wedding at the delightful Congham Hall Hotel near Kings Lynn. Lisa called us quite close to the date, and as we weren’t busy we were able to give her a great deal on a roulette and blackjack table for her wedding reception.

We also provided a winners trophy engraved with the date and the name of the bride and groom, a lovely keepsake for Emma, the lucky winner of the tournament.

One thing we can really do well for businesses is entertain their staff!

Last week we did an event at Dunston Hall Hotel for the Norwich Ardagh staff (we got it through our good friends and partners Right Angle Events) and it went down extremely well.

We set up 4 tables for them…. our antique double ended roulette table, plus a blackjack and caribbean stud poker…. then we explained the games to those who needed it, and had an exciting tournament, with the winner receiving our special Fun Casino Events tournament winner trophy, plus a weekend stay at Dunston Hall Hotel (supplied by the company).
